Behind the Designs: The Truck and The Tribute Story

Honoring a Legacy, One Mile at a Time

At Truck Slut Apparel, every design we put out has a story — and few mean as much to us as this one. Our Truck and the Tribute T-shirt isn’t just a cool graphic of two log trucks; it’s a piece of family history and a nod to the generations who built their lives behind the wheel.

This shirt is inspired by owner Terry Huffman’s 2022 W900L Kenworth, his last truck. Terry built this truck to honor his father, Leonard Huffman, and the truck that started it all — Leonard’s 1981 W900A Kenworth, his last log truck and the very one Terry learned to drive in when he was just 12 years old. Terry had always wanted to build a truck like his Dad's, and when the time came, was proud to unveil it to Leonard while he was still around to see it, and to go for a ride. Terry had the paint code memorized for "CHROME ORANGE" in his childhood, so the trucks were even paint matched. He drove the truck proudly under his business T&L Huffman Trucking.

For the Huffman family, trucking isn’t just work — it’s a legacy. When Terry set out to order the 2022 W900L, he didn’t just want a new truck — he wanted to recreate the spirit of his dad’s “A model”, from the paint to the details that only someone who grew up in the passenger seat would remember. They outfitted the truck for the woods together, spending countless hours in the driveway to ger it ready to go to work.

The result is a truck that turned heads everywhere it went, not just because it was orange, but because it carried a story.

Our The Truck and The Tribute shirt captures that story in a design that celebrates both trucks — the original 1981 A model that started it all, and the 2022 L model that carried the torch forward. It’s more than a shirt — it’s a tribute to family, hard work, and the tradition of American trucking that runs deep through the Huffman name.

So when you pull on this shirt, you’re not just repping a truck — you’re honoring our legacy in Chrome Orange.
